I was very excited to receive this book. The reviews seemed positive, and the book provides what the title says, "ready to use excel macros", but the application and use may not be what most people need.A lot of the macros in this book can be easily done without a macro by using accelerator keys (keyboard shortcuts in excel) instead. For example; you can create a macro to autofit columns, add the macro to your ribbon or leave it in the Developer > Code > Macros menu, move your mouse cursor to the top of excel, click a few times to get to the macro, click the button and then the columns will autofit. Or, you can use accelerator and press ALT, H, O, I in that order to autofit the selected columns. That's only one example, but many more macros in the book can be done via accelerator keys.I would have liked to see more about saving workbooks or selections as PDFs, but perhaps that was too intermediate / advance a topic for this book. Even information about recording macros would have been nice. Or, information on how to read the code (yes, there was a table with some common keywords, but that doesn't help you really read the code). That said, I suppose none of that was the purpose of the book.Yes, it provides 101 macros. No, you will not use all of them. Yes, there are easier ways to achieve the same results.A lot of this information could be easily found online too, so I don't feel there was enough value-added content in this book.
